The Perfect World

In a perfect world, we'd have the lifestyle of Weimar (gluwein, ice creams, and festivals), the convenience of Haverhill (24-hour everything, a bedroom for everyone, good space for entertaining), the family from New England, and the friends from both places (sing it with me now, "I've got friends, in BOTH places..."). We'd send the girls to German kindergartens and speak English at home. They'd spend time with their grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins and German friends and South African friends and Scottish friends and British friends. We'd bike to work but drive to Target. We'd drink Starbucks and eat giant fruit-laden ice creams. (We'd HAVE to bike to work if that were the case!). I'd speak German most of the time in public, because it's fun to exercise the brain that way, but when faced with complicated tasks and legal hurdles could slip into Engish for convenience. Russ would have the job he loves now and such an easy commute. Fiona and Maeve would grow up as global citizens but with the foundation that comes with living around family. In a perfect word, I guess, we'd live in Haweimarill. Anyone know of a home for sale there?
